by Alan Haehnel
Directed by Skylar Grossman
Jane is a teenager of such prowess that, at last count, over thirty-seven thousand people in eighteen different countries wanted to be her. She assembles her friends and followers so that she can retell the story of one of the greatest challenges in her heroic career – the dreaded tale of The Term Paper. Can she defeat teachers, time, procrastination, and her evil brother Stewart and finish her term paper? Of course she can, for she is…Jane!
Wednesday, July 20th – 5:00 pm
The Afternoon Program has been re-designed for 2016.
Participants will receive focused training on topics ranging from acting theory and ensemble building to guided monologue and scene work in an intimate setting limited to 25. Participants will additionally be cast in a one-act play and perform five times: two at the Regis College Fine Arts Center, and three in the surrounding community. Traveling to different performance spaces will afford participants a unique and practical look into theater design and the elements needed to create a fully realized production.
In their five weeks together, participants will learn what it means to own every aspect of their craft. Between developing the young actor through curricular experiences, and staging a play, each participant will leave a stronger theater artist and with a firm understanding of the inner workings of an acting company.
